Restorative Dentistry in Richardson, TX

It’s amazing how much one or two damaged teeth can completely tarnish an otherwise attractive smile. They can easily cause you to feel overly self-conscious, and they can even make it more difficult to do simple things like eating and speaking.

Thankfully, Dr. Meredith Davis offers the very best restorative dentistry near Richardson, TX. Our restorative treatments can give back what you’ve lost and make your smile look and feel better than ever before!

CEREC® One-Visit Restorations

We understand that many of our patients lead busy lives. That is why we offer one-visit restorations using CEREC technology. Instead of having to schedule two different appointments to receive your personalized restoration (and wear a temporary one in the meantime), CEREC uses computer-aided design and manufacturing to design and create your restoration within a couple of hours.

In addition to the more comfortable digital method of taking impressions, CEREC is more convenient because the whole process can be completed in a single visit to our Richardson dental office.

Dental Implants

A dental implant uses a titanium post implanted in the jawbone to recreate the tooth roots of missing teeth. These posts also support your jawbone just like natural teeth, which will help preserve both your oral health and the shape of your face. Because dental implants offer unparalleled results, they are regarded as the top tooth replacement solutions on the market today. After all, most dental implants last patients for the rest of their lives!

We offer a range of dental implant systems including:

  • Single Dental Implants
  • All-on-4®
  • Implant-Retained Dentures

Dental Crowns & Bridges

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that simply slips over the top of your damaged tooth in order to restore both its appearance and function. Whether it has been damaged by decay or injury, a dental crown can easily make it look like new again, and you can typically get a crown in as little as two visits to our office.

During the first one, we’ll remove any damaged portion of the tooth and shape it to securely hold the crown. We’ll then take an impression of your teeth and send it to a local dental lab to fabricate your crown. Unlike many local practices, we prefer to take our impressions the traditional way using dental putty. This process creates an overall better result in both look and feel compared to “same-day crowns,” and we know our patients appreciate waiting slightly longer for much higher quality.

When you return, we’ll place it in your mouth using a small amount of dental cement.

A bridge, on the other hand, can be used to replace a row of consecutive missing teeth. Crowns will be applied to the teeth surrounding the missing ones (using the same process we just outlined), and these will be attached to prosthetic teeth that literally “bridge” the gap between them.

Fixed Bridge Tooth Replacement

Fixed bridges are replacement teeth attached to dental crowns, one on each side. The dental crowns are placed over the top of surrounding healthy teeth to support the entire tooth replacement prosthetic. Like dental crowns, fixed bridges are also made from a variety of materials including gold, porcelain fused to metal, and all-ceramic.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If you have a tooth that is only slightly decayed or damaged, we can easily fix it using a filling. You can get a filling in just one visit, and the process is completely painless. We’ll start by simply removing the damaged portion of your tooth, and then we’ll restore the lost structure using either amalgam or a tooth-colored resin. In either case, the end result will be a completely renewed tooth that you’ll be able to trust for many years.

Fortunately, we’re also able to offer a more aesthetically pleasing option with tooth-colored fillings. As mentioned above, they are made of a tooth-colored composite resin. This material is strong, durable, and it can even be specially shaded to match the color of your natural enamel. It’s the perfect option for someone wanting to preserve the appearance of their smile while having it treated.

Dentures & Partial Dentures

Modern-day dentures simply put the old bulky and clunky ones to shame. They’re now sleeker, more comfortable, and completely natural-looking. They are still made of a gum-colored base attached to prosthetic teeth, but the results they can create are more lifelike than ever.

Partial dentures can be used to replace numerous missing teeth, while full dentures can actually replace an entire arch. Regardless of which you need, they are one of the quickest and most effective ways to get your complete smile back.
